Podcasting / YouTube Advice

Are you wanting to start sharing your own life experiences? Perhaps your own Hero’s Journey? Starting a podcast and/or a YouTube channel is extremely easy in this current technological marvel of a time we live in.

STARTING a podcast is easy. Keeping it going is another matter entirely.

Podcasting is a LOT of work and it may take a long time to reap any reward out of it.

It may take ALL of your energy from you. Think Spiritual takes a lot of energy from me and I am not a high-energy extrovert to begin with. This is why my episodes are sporadic and inconsistent – which doesn’t help grow my audience, but it is what it is at this time. I do this because I feel somewhat compelled to do so. I’m supposed to be doing this and I’m not entirely certain why.

A podcast will also take some monetary investment from you.

If you’re not very tech-savvy, there are a lot of solutions out there for you, BUT the less work you do yourself, the more each episode will cost you. I have heard of podcasters paying upwards of $200 to $300 USD per episode.

In my mind, that’s slightly insane.

Each episode of Think Spiritual costs me $15 to $20 CANADIAN FUNDS, but…I do all of the work personally and manually, so my energy expenditure is large per episode. 15 to 20 hours of work per episode is not uncommon.

That’s also slightly insane, but it’s the choice I prefer.

If you would like to discuss getting your podcast up and running, please send me a message. I’m happy to talk gear and computers and processes.

By the way, I now use a completely Linux-based computer system for all of my production. It’s another way of keeping costs down.
